Time & Location
May 07, 2019, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the event
Twice a year, Professional Photographers of America (PPA) offers Super1Day workshops in studios all across the country. There are many topics and they are all taught by working professionals. (More on Super1Day here.)
Our contribution to Super1Day is this Intro to Studio Lighting workshop. It will introduce the photographer to lighting concepts, methods, lights and modifiers in a studio environment. We'll work through a variety of lighting setups including: High Key, Low Key, Rim Lighting, Clamshell, Grid Spot, One Light and more.
The morning will include lecture, note taking, and hands on demonstrations. Our afternoon will have us going hands-on with the lighting equipment, a tethered capture workflow, and a live model to give us some camera time. You'll have a chance to shoot to build your portfolio, so bring your camera and favorite portrait lens.
Class starts promptly at 9:00 AM and will end at 5:00 PM. We'll take a lunch at one of several eateries within walking distance of the studio.
